Panelists include:

Kinney Baughman
Mr. Baughman was the first professional brewer in Watauga County, and brewed Boone’s first IPA, an early pumpkin spice beer, and in 1995 won a bronze medal at the Great American Beer Festival in the Belgian-Style Specialty Ales category with an Amber Framboise, well before there was a GABF category for sour beers. Mr. Baughman also ran his own company in the industry, “Brewco”, and is a retired Adjunct Professor of Philosophy at Appalachian State University.
Bobby Bush
Mr. Bush is the author of hundreds of articles about the U.S. beer and brewing industry dating back to the early 1990s, and co-founder of the Hickory Hops Craft Beer Festival, which started in 2003 and is the third-oldest continuously running beer festival in North Carolina. The Carolinas Championship of Beers (CCB) competition and awards is a part of Hickory Hops. Mr. Bush is an avid collector of breweriana, with over 400 brewery t-shirts, hundreds of pint glasses and growlers, and literally thousands of coasters.
Julie Johnson
Ms. Johnson is the former co-owner and editor of All About Beer magazine. An article she authored in late 2002 for the Raleigh News & Observer launched the Pop The Cap movement that she went on to co-lead, and which changed craft beer landscape in North Carolina, jumpstarting a billion-dollar industry while creating hundreds of businesses and thousands of jobs.
